Highlights Of My 2011

These are everything that I can remember in the year 2011, everything that made an impact on my life.

January:
- Major major pay days as holidays lined up the last weeks of December.

February
- Ended the Dell Q4 with powerful CA MPC performance. Celebration at the office with clients. Was all worth the effort.

March
- Visited Davao and its famous Pearl Farm Beach Resort along with Jello, Marvin, Mix, Sharon and Yuri.

April
- I lost my first BlackBerry, BB 9000 after a volleyball training for the Ayala Cup.
- Canada Voice Queue is not passing in MPC metric.

May
- Ayala Corp Team lost in the Jaime Zobel Ayala Cup.

June
- Bought my new BB 9300 Curve from Macky Zaide.
- Flyn resigned from Stream. Despedida happened at Rhona's place.
- Kat introduced me to ChicBoy. :)

July
- Sales Coaches GA at Stilts, Calatagan Batangas.
- A week after, Dell SMB Alabang Management Team went to a Team GA too at a resort house in Calatagan too.
- Dave and I went to the White Party at Malate.
- My Canada Voice Queue is coming back with a powerful performance after 2 quarters of struggle.
- Edel resigned from Stream :(
- Reunited with Venus Ver at MoA along with Bez Dave.
- Reunited with College tropa at James Cansino's place.

August
- Met my jijiera friends and attended their swimming party
- I didn't make it to the TL position on a roster of 11 candidates.
- Cedie Rabina left Alabang Site and transferred to Shaw.
- I've had the BEST birthday celebration for the whole month.
- Coal, Culture Box, Central Makati, Cedars Grill, and Republiq - THANKS for making it memorable.
- Reunion with Ron Roncesvalles, Jed, Kat and Ann at Starbucks Northgate.

September
- Met Team Lenny and his roster of agents. Became attached to the folks. :)
- Joined a lot of Team's GA's. Especially Team Joyce, Lenny's and Dona's.
- Joined UP-LB's One Day Volleyball League. Placed second along with my Teletech/Jijiera teammates.

October
- Reunited with my College Varsity Teammates.
- CA Voice ended the quarter with the BEST performance on MPC to date by any Alabang Queue.
- I left and resigned from STREAM.

November
- Went on a rendezvous of applications at GenPact, Teletech, Sitel and some headhunter agencies.
- Cleared from Stream's accountabilities.
- Became active at our volleyball group Jijiera and Upper East Side volleyball teams at Mambog.
- My aunt and uncle arrived from States and saved my financial crisis for night outs! :)
- Was introduced to my new gimik place - Anxiabells Bar.

December
- My Grandfather Rene died at our home.
- Joined Upper East Side Volleyball Team, placed 3rd in the league we joined.
- Met Zael and the Mambog peeps of Cherry Homes.
- Got hired at Teletech. Will be starting at Jan. 2!
- Backpay ready for pick up!

November start (The application adventure) - Sitel

Feeling kind of confident with the application I did with Teletech, I was kind of just taking it nice and slow and went on to take my "out-of-the-office" status more seriously. I went to a lot of night outs (those budget night outs where you don't need to spend much) and play volleyball and check out my online accounts Facebook and Twitter on a daily basis.

Come Monday, Nov 14, I received a call from Sitel. It's one of the options I have as the first two applications I did were for agent positions but Sitel is needing a Sales Coach for their HP Account. Being a former Sales Coach for Dell, I already had my edge on this. So the initial interview happened and they scheduled me for an interview at 11:30 PM Tuesday night. Venue: Sitel Boni Pioneer, Cybergate Plaza.

To tell you honestly, I didn't know the place and it took me too long to get there. Of course, given that I was a bit excited I was kinda earlier than the prescribed schedule.
I entered the building and I can't help but compare again the environment to my previous call center:
Building's just fine. 12-storey and I have to be at the 12th floor.
There's a line at the elevators. Pfft. They're kinda smaller too.

Anyways, I went up and was impressed with their security level, not to mention they have a couple of cute security guards (why are you security guards?!). I got directed to the lobby and waited along with the other applicants (mixture of TL and agent applicants).

End of story..

Well, not actually.

The reason why I said that is because what happened there is that I JUST WAITED. Nothing else. No interview, no show-up from the interviewer. No message on what I'm going to expect. I was so disappointed with the first impression they're giving me about their recruiting process.

I went home after waiting for 4 hours of no show-up from the interviewer. I specifically told the receptionist to inform the interviewer that I was waiting from 11:30 - 3:30 AM for him.

After two days, they called.

November start (The application adventure) - Teletech

After my outright dissatisfaction from my application at GenPact, I didn't really make an effort to even follow up after that.

A week has passed. And I was just weighing my options if I should start working again or should take a break first. But 2 weeks of no salary, or simply, money, is becoming a major major challenge to me. I tried hitting the online sites of the other contact centers and came across Teletech SM Bacoor. I submitted my application online thru their website.

I have 3 friends who are working there. Chox and Wel who are both agents, and Warren , one of the Team managers of Telstra.

Actually, I got the idea of applying at Teletech because this is nearest our area. Same Bacoor as my site, it's only 1 jeepney ride away from us.

I have tried applying here 3 years ago. I failed on the final interview because the interviewer is not confident enough of my educational background. She's having doubts that I have finished 2 years of college, which to me was weird when I already am in 4th year but undergraduate.

I got a call the next day around 9AM and it was one of the recruiting personnel of Teletech. Initial interview was a breeze and since I already expressed my availability for the time being, I got the schedule of 11AM for an exam at the site.

So I went there and was not that surprised that not so many are applying that day. Way back 3 years ago, it was heavily jam-packed everyday. Anyway, I went to take the 2 hours exam (which was pretty easier to me this time than it was 3 years ago) and also the call simulation which was quite easier this year. What's distinct this time was that there was an email assessment. We are tasked to create an email response as an email support rep. It was kinda easy, actually.

So off we waited and from 11AM, went to around 6PM before all the process ended. Only me and another lady got to wait last in the lobby for the results and we were informed that we'll be called back for a final interview. Actually, it was a smooth process. The problem is, I've applied there just this November 11, 2011. But up to now, November 24, THEY HAVEN'T CALLED YET.

That's the only problem. And that's why I decided to check out my third option....

November start (The application adventure) - GenPact

Ok, enough about the sadness brought about by my resignation from Stream. I've forged a grudge to myself that I will make it way better on the next call center I'll enter.

I tried it first, the week after, at GenPact Services LLC. Tempting, I should say, because aside from the fact that it's also situated at Northgate where Stream is too, they are offering 22K signing bonus to those who will make it on Nov 2 application.
I got two referrers, Crisna and the other one, Yvonne's sister-in-law, Kay Falceso.
So I was very excited to to enter and try the application process but there some good and equivalently bad things that disappointed me with the whole application.
The good:
I went to the initial interview at around 9AM, then filled in the directory for Genpact. I even went for a round of Versant, which came to me as weird as I have took up the same test around 3 years ago and I already passed. Will English level be diminishing in a matter of 3 years and I'm in a call center? Hahah.

The not-so-good:
Mind you, the first recruiting personnel who called my name doesn't really compare to all the recruiting personnel we have back at Stream. (I can't help but compare, right? It's my second call center if ever!).
His English is outright baroque. In Tagalog, it's "matigas", doesn't have slang in it, and if he attempts, it's pretty obvious he has an accent.
For a frustrated English major like me, pronunciation and diction is a very critical thing when speaking in English. Though I didn't master the language myself, I definitely know when the grammar and pronunciation is wrong. Also, for a "call center", you could have put a better, if not your best English speakers, in the front as they set the standards and initial impression of how awesome your company really is. Being an applicant, that is how I feel and I know that most people would agree with this.

Moving on, it took the recruiting almost 2 hours before they gave me the result (I was ahead of the others because I came in early). It's around 12:15PM already when one recruiter said that I should be back at 12 later for my final interview. I was thinking she was joking, but she looked at her watch and said it's 12 MIDNIGHT.
My eyebrows instantly raised themselves and my mouth forced a question shot back at her. She explained that it's true and the TM who will interview me (or us) will be logging in tonight.

So I left and finished the last part of my Stream clearance - passing it over to Finance Dept at PBCOM Tower Makati. I went there and and pursued to check out my other options at Global Milestone Asia, which I found out too late that it was a headhunter agency and not actually another call center. I got into a couple of interviews and because of the expected salary I told them, they are referring me to EXL Asia at MoA, or at 24/7 at Makati. Anyway, I went home and took that as an experience.
Since I have GenPact working on the background for my application, I didn't mind the referrals given to me.

That evening, I went back to GenPact and finished the interview, and passed it according to the intimidating Front Line Managers of the account. We were given a checklist of the requirements but the only problem was the JOB OFFER itself. They're giving me 18K starting + 2.5K Allowances = 20.5K Salary VS. my expected 22K offer that they asked of me. I was stunned but I had to have a job so I kind of like went on with the flow and told myself, I'll submit the requirements then I'll just negotiate it if possible.

Two days passed and by Friday, I found myself submitting the requirements to GenPact and getting my Pre-Employment Orientation, a form of welcome to the "would-be" employees of GenPact and to the account we're about to enter should we get to be picked - All State insurance.
There were a lot of good, cute, pretty people and of course there were the others too.

Anyway, after the orientations, I was really happy announcing to all the people I saw when I smoked by in the front of the Stream office what just happened with my application. I really thought that we'll be starting by Sunday night (Monday morning actually 1:30AM sched as what's announced to us).

But I was wrong.

I got a text message on Sunday morning from the recruiting team that I was not included in the first 20 people that are going to be starting that night on the Wave 5 training. I was with the other 20 (because we're 40 total) and the clients only needed 20. So bottom line, we're like floating agents. We would have to wait either the next wave next year or the next account that will need agents.

I was sooo irritated with that. They haven't set our expectations that tendencies like this happen at their company. Not to badmouth, but their recruiting process is not a good process. And their press release is that they're URGENTLY HIRING.

Spell pissed? That's ME.

I didn't get a call whatsoever from them ever after that. Pfft.

This might be the longest goodbye letter you will ever read...

This came as abit of surprise don't you think? Well, honestly I too, amsurprised.

As most of you may have alreadyknown thru Facebook and Twitter, I have justresigned yesterday, Oct 25 2011.

I have to pursue my schooling atPLM and finish my degree and also look for another career in the business field.(and you all know these are not just the reasons)

I just think it's imperative tomake a formal goodbye to everyone I've known here on Stream as we all may havetouched each other's lives in one way or another.

I've been a Dell TSR Voice Agentfor 9 months (Sept '08-May '09), then a TSR Chat Agent for 6 months (May '09-Nov'09). I've been appointed by Boss Oca Saligan to be Chat's Sales Coach and I'vebeen your "ever-ready" Sales Coach handling multiple changing queues (EPP-SMBVoice, SMB Chat, SMB XPS Chat, Canada Chat, Canada Voice) since Nov '09.

3 years and 3months and 11 days.

How time flies - I didn't mind. Aslong as I was enjoying my time on the floor, I never really thought about age,gender, achievements, educational backgrounds when it comes to all myofficemates - we're just all here to work and get paid and have fun doing it.While all goodbyes are expected to be sorrowful, I don't and will never regretknowing that I left a great company of good people. Thank you toeveryone.

Actually, this is one of the most heartfelt emails I've ever written. It took me one whole day (almost 24 hours) to create this INSIDE the office on my last day. I've poured all the effort to think all the good and bad times I've been with all the people mentioned.

Wednesday, October 26, 2011.

I decided to come to the office at 6am to do just one thing - to create my goodbye letter.
Although goodbyes are not most of the time planned, I have already planned mine and that is to make the longest goodbye letter one employee could ever make.

But first, I had to clear my workstation. Here's the last look on how busy my workstation was on my last day:

Time to clear it up... Got a very big paper bag to pack everything...

Took my last pantry lunch (I don't even know what the meal's called)

It was a bittersweet moment. I did my clearance the next day and it was expedited just like how TL BJ has promised. After the clearance has been completed for Alabang site, Team Joyce has invited me tto join them for a booze as a way for the team to say goodbye to me (awww!!), more like a "despedida". I really appreciated it.

Week-ending October 29. The last week-ending I was with Dell. And equivalently with Stream Global Services.

Everybody knows in the office that I'm a party-goer, hyperactive, impulsive outgoing person. I never spend my days off at home and I always make sure that I have somewhere to go to on those days.

So after partying on Friday (which came to me as a one-day off because of my roller coaster schedule for October), I went to work again on Saturday and Sunday nights. It was a lazy weekend. I was even blurting out that that schedule is just a petiks shift for me as there were not so many agents are on the floor and of course, not too much questions asked of me for consultations.

Come Monday, I went to my 3rd day for WE Oct 29 shift and of course, the number of agents blew up as it's a business working day in the US/Canada. Being in a call center environment really shows you that on Monday-Friday night shifts, that's the time most agents are scheduled to work. Everything was going smoothly, from my 11PM o'clock shift until...

TL BJ (my first line supervisor) chatted me thru Sametime about a coaching session at around 5am

We went down to have our coaching done over some sticks of cigarettes (yeah, we sometimes do non-conventional ways of coaching sessions). He explained about the decision of Mena on my L3. And everything just went from there. I tried to ask questions if I will still be able to come to work the next day, he said no. Mena didn't allow it. She didn't even approve of me having my last pay day on that week. (My only grudge with Mena). I really appreciate though how sincere TL BJ was in telling me honestly and in a positive scripting everything because if not, I would've busted down in tears. So by next hour I was...

creating my resignation letter... which honestly took me 15 minutes to Google the format and fill them up...

returned my Maxicare card to the HR...

filled up an Employee Exit Interview Survey...

And locked my workstation for the last time... :(

To those who are very close to me, I know you already know why I really left Stream. But that's not something that I should be proud of as it was very urgent and obviously I haven't prepared for that.

But of course, I didn't leave Stream that day without making a mark to everyone that I will be leaving behind.

I asked TL BJ that same day (Tuesday morning eventually), if I can go back to the office tonight (even without pay and all that) just to endorse everything properly and professionally to the newly-selected SC who will replace me and say my goodbyes to everyone. He agreed.

I went to PLM that morning to work on my enrollment for next year's semester for graduate school's class as I'm vying to enroll this coming semester. I was trying to avoid thinking about everything that happened in the office. I was successful the whole time I was in Manila.
As soon as I went home in the afternoon around 1pm, I rode a jeepney on the way to our village. I tried looking at the clearbook and I came across my resignation letter I printed earlier that day...

Then I cried. I literally cried.

I avoided all the other passengers' stares at me by covering my face with my jacket and pretending I'm sleeping and I seriously had a waterfall moment of tears! Gosh, it suddenly sank on me. Everything. From all the tasks I'm bound to do on a daily basis, to all the friends and people I've known and interact everyday and to all the enjoyment and frustrations I feel about working at Stream. I felt super sad.

By the time I went home, I continued my crayola moment and played "Somewhere Only We Know" by Blaine and the Warblers of GLEE for more than 22 times as my background song. I really wanted a moment alone.Then I browsed all the photos I have taken in my phone from all the people and events on the office. I've wasted everything. That's how I really felt.

I dozed off and found myself too soaked in tears that I didn't make it in the office in the next evening shift and went to take the morning shift on Wednesday to come back to the office.

So where do I start? From the time that I ended my contract from Stream? Nah, nothing much happened after that. Except that I went to 3 different contact centers and tried my luck applying there. And as of the time I'm writing this, I just received today a text message from Sitel that they're finalizing my job offer.

Anyway, let's start on what really happened and why I really left Stream....

Since Facebook and Twitter emerged and captured the hearts of almost everyone I know, I would have to agree, they're the only websites I cared to check on a daily basis since then.

More so, Blackberry became my new phone (Blackberry 9000 which got hold-upped, yet again, and now Blackberry 9300) and gave me wide access to these social networking sites at the palm of my hand. :)

A Matter of Life and Death (A Nightmare that will change my life) - a Repost from my Facebook Notes

Saturday night, May 22, 2010. I woke up at 7PM after a whole day of sleep. It's my off, so I'm very much excited on the line-up of activities that I can do later that evening.

About an hour or so later, I was on my way to Northgate, Alabang, to distribute some jerseys for my teammates Cedie, Hannibal and a possible teammate John Paul. Then I went on my way to the funeral wake of my friend Jonette's grandma at Rizal Memorial in Pasay. There I met up with Dave, Rona, and Rizi.

By 1AM, I told them I have to go to Jacquou's (another friend) place to meet up with them coz I promised I'll go there this weekend. Having conflicts and confusion with my best friend Dave, I still pursued to go there.

I arrived at Makati at 1:25-1:30AM. I found Jacquou along with Jade, Daniela, Kuya Butch, Kune, and Joms.
We shared some stories, what's happening with our other friends, the chit-chats, and all that.
By 3AM, I told them I'll be leaving before sunrise at 4AM so the trip will not be that hard, considering it's Sunday and passing through Baclaran on a Sunday is like "pila sa Wowowee".

I left at 4AM, took a jeep to LRT Buendia. At the LRT Station, I took another jeep on the way to Baclaran (my usual route going home - Baclaran - Zapote - Jollibee Molino - Gardenia, our village). Somewhere in the middle of the trip, I dozed off with my headset plugged in my ears. When I woke up, the driver was saying to the now two of us remaining passengers, "Hanggang dito na lang po". So we both went down.

I walked towards the last LRT Station area, where at the end you will find all the jeeps going to Cavite/Sucat. I tried to take my strides carefully as we all know, Baclaran's putik is like so "ITIM" and so "MABAHO" if they get into your feet or even clothes. One unavoidable part of the road, was really drenched in the said putik, so I told myself, I'll just wipe it out, which I did after getting a tissue from my clutch bag. Upon lowering my head to closely look at my foot, I noticed the co-passenger I have was already walking very fast ahead of me. So I'm kinda left alone on that part of the road.
Then two "drunk" manongs showed up from the side and walked past me, one of them was really acting very drunk that he cannot walk straight and was leaning on his companion to help him walk.
I told myself, in my very natural attitude, "Ano ba naman yan, iinom hindi kayang i-contain, di ka tuloy makalakad ng straight." I advanced over them as I walked, on my peripheral vision, I saw the other guy leaned over his buddy like in a piggyback position.

Then, as I was way past them (my headset still in my ears), I just felt a HUGE WEIGHT over my shoulders, then thinking fast, I realized it's the "Drunk" Guy trying to ride on my back. I was still able to put down my right-ear-side headset, then commented on him, "Oh, Kuya, Lasing ka!". My clutch bag dropped. Then, the rumble started. His whole weight was pushed into me. My hands are tied by his arms over my chest. My mouth was cupped by his hands. My neck strangled by his arms going from my chest upwards.
I was LITERALLY BEING DRAGGED like a 5'10 1/2" mannequin to the side of the road.

For the freaky part, I WAS WEARING WHITE LONG SLEEVED SHIRT for CRYING OUT LOUD!!! I was telling myself, "Lasing lang to, pero potah, nakaputi ako eh! Tapos nakahiga ako dito sa kalsada".

At one part, I remember I was trying to ask help from the companion of the "pretending drunk guy" , pero it turned that he was playing a "lookout" and he assisted the Drunk guy drag me to the side of the street.
At first, I was shocked on what's the intention, "Lakas ng trip ah?!" - what I was thinking. Then it came down to me, after a series of punches on my chest and my face, they're trying to knock me down. I got all the guts to pull his hand from my mouth and said, "Kuya wag, anu to?! BAKET???!" Then, it all became clear to me - HOLD-UP. He said, "Ibigay mo na!" Then, I remembered, shit, my 1-week old Samsung Star WiFi's on my pocket, connected to the headset where I'm listening to.
The "lookout" guy then did the robbing on my right-side pocket, trying to get the phone, the "drunk" guy was still holding me, punching me here and there, with some elbow thrusts over my nose, because I was trying to let go. I thought I was going to die in there.

When I realized my pocket was free of my phone, I panicked. I told myself, "POOCHA KAYO, BAGO LANG YANG PHONE KO, ISANG LINGGO PA LANG YAN SAKIN, PUNYETA KAYO!". When they stood and acted on escaping already, I didn't care about my bruises or if I was bleeding, I literally SHOUTED and ASKED for help like a very helpless someone. I found my bag still in the same spot where I dropped it. Good thing the hold-uppers didn't get that, there is my sister's PSP and my wallet which holds all important cards.
I didn't expect that when you're alone in a situation like that, no matter how strong you think you are, you will cry. I cried. I wailed at the sleeping vendors on the sidewalk, trying to wake them up to get attention. A girl, of around age 5-7, saw everything that happened. One old lady woke up and saw the escaping hold-uppers. A male vendor woke up but acted like he doesn''t want his sleep to be disturbed.

Thinking to myself that I was already bruised, bleeding, hey, what the hell?! I pursued over the two devils. I was shouting at them to give back my phone, I'll give them all my money. I was honestly shouting at them that "YUNG CONTACTS KO JAN KUYA MAHALAGA, IBALIK NIYO NA!". Then they tried to zigzag their way to the different stalls, but I'm not stupid, I was able to catch up on them, but to my surprise, a fast elbow thrust darkened my vision and they were off to vanish.

I was pleading for the spectators to help me. But no one dared. There were two girls who came running to my side and said, "Kuya, dumudugo yung mukha mo". That's when I realized how bloody my mouth is, my chin was dropping blood from my face. I then felt the pain, all those punches, struggles, made me realize how helpless I became back there.

Just in time, a roaming barangay multicab went by. I rode it and we went to the Cuneta Street where we really think the thieves passed by. We got past a barbecue vendor whom, when asked by the tanods, said, "Wala po. Wala po akong alam jan" even if I was telling him I'll never involve him, just point us to a direction - which evidently seems like he just don't want to get involved. COWARD. I thought to myself.
Then we saw a woman on the other side of the street fanning herself while enjoying the cool 4:30AM breeze. The tanods asked her the same question. She was hesitant for a moment, but when I interrupted the questioning and showed the lady my turned-out face after the robbery, she gave us an eyebrow lift which indicated she indeed saw two guys pass by.
We drove then all the way to the end of the street, hoping to still catch up on the thieves. But of course, it is expected. They're gone.

I went back to the Sto. Niño Village of Baclaran to file a complaint to the Brgy. Hall. To my surprise, NO TANODS are on the Hall and it's CLOSED. I was lucky to be found by a passing lady called Salo who helped me all the way to from filing a Police report, blottering, to letting me insert my Globe Sim to contact my friends and family.

I filed the police report at 5:15AM. We also filed a report to the Brgy. Hall of Sto. Niño after we waited for it to open.
We waited there until my parents picked me up to bring me to the hospital.
I got my medico legal at the Pasay City General Hospital at between 7-8AM.
Rona and Jev went there too and we were all teary-eyed when we saw each other.

I'll never ever forget this traumatic experience which IRRITATES me to the point that I THINK I WILL DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS IN THE FUTURE.

And then there's this week ending.
I thought the start of the week is going to be so-and-so. Or so I thought. By mid-week we're already at a 106K to reach 150K stretch goal. Thursday and Friday shifts were the most hectic as it drains most of our energies in pushing and motivating agents to sell.

By Friday, I was the only Sales Coach again scheduled on the floor and we engaged ourselves into having a countdown until our program proactively reached our target rev.

AND WE DID IT. :)

I left the office with around -$1.kK deficit, and according to TL BJ, when Sam (my co-Sales Coach who comes in on a different schedule) scrubbed the data less returns and all held orders, we got a final Net Revenue of $151K! :) Yahooness. 'Twas a sigh of relief knowing that you've achieved what needs to be achieved. The challenge now we're going to face is consistency. I really do hope we do GREAT in the next weeks coming.

I want to be promoted! For crying out loud. :)

The last day of this week ending for us (Friday) was all I could ever imagined it would be. Being the only Sales Coach around from 11pm - 8am (and mind you, it's not the time I really log out), it was me against the whole floor along with TL BJ. We answered inquiries, helped agents, gave spiffs, did floor walk and everything that would make the last day of our historical week active.

Team D's GA was scheduled that day as well. After the über exhausting day of roaming around the Matrix floor, it was a relief to look forward to an enjoyable event afterwards.
I immediately went home (or not that immediate, coz it was around 10am already), tried to take a nap from 12pm - 2pm then prepared to go back to the office (which was our meeting place).

I arrived last and I got on TL Dona's car along with Saif, Dad and TL's bf. When we got to the gasoline station near our office, we met up with Cris' car, with Edel, BJ, Daigan and Ced on board. We bought some ice and we spent some time figuring out how to carry the weight of the whole group without making Cris' car suffer. :)

Then, a funny thing happened. A beggar (well, I'm not judgemental, but you can identify one once you see one, right?), ok, a poor woman, suddenly went inside Cris' car as we got out off it. Edel was the only one left inside and timingly we were shocked and did nothing but watch her get inside and sat beside Edel. TL Dona's bf had the urge to pull her out of the car and warned her not to act like that. I felt sorry for the woman who was barefoot with signs of miles of distances walked by her feet.

We trudged along Las Piñas and Cavite borders until we arrived at Lenny's friend's resort - Villa Alberto. It was a fun ride filled with laughter and background music inspired by BJ's iPod ("Better Days"?! "Endless Love"?!) Gosh.

The resort was awesome. Even though it was a public resort, the venue was kept from the hustle and bustle if the streets. It was dramatically lit, much like a Spa Resort with Bamboo cottages.

Tired but worth it

Yesterday's shift was a bit tough. I got challenged by the amount of technical questions and tools issue that I need to handle. Good thing I was able to accomplish most of them and my focus teams are getting great improvements.

We had a strategy plan meeting along with the bosses and it was a good way of laying an outline on the activities and obstacles we need to overcome.

When I got home, I was sooo tired that after lunch, I got asleep fast on the bed.

Today, when I checked the running revenue where our program is right now, we're 74% to Goal! :) And we still have 2 more days to accomplish that! Great vibes, great vibes. :)

Got to get back now, just slipped away from the floor for a while :)

Starting February

It's the 2nd day of work now. Still hectic and tight when it comes to the job to-do's, but that's what I'm paid for.

First day had some great moments at shift:

- We had a "major" meeting on the distribution of tasks (or was it "do-your-job-very-well-I'll-check-on-that-when-I-get-back-from-vacation") by our Shift Manager.

- Before the meeting ended, we played a game called "Taboo" and our team won Php500 straight from Boss' pocket :)

- Drastic latency issues on the tools (darn!).

- Was able to to go home earlier than before! An "Achievement"! :p

- Wasted a LOT of money on food!

My first-line supervisor is on-leave from Tuesday - Friday, then off on Saturday-Sunday. So all the responsibilities assigned to me were expected to be performed with double effort.

Today, everyone seems to be going as planned, more revenue were generated and we're able to hit around 40% of the revenue we usually generate on a week basis. Good vibes, good vibes. Even though the tools experienced some downtimes yesterday, I was a bit surprised our revenue is going pretty well.

A lot of technical questions here and there, more participation from my focus teams. Great going. More spiffs awarded to agents, good PR to them. More news and gossips roaming the office floor.

New people to join the boat. Old people leaving the boat. You know. Changes come. And the wave ripples and affect the others.

Time flies. But I suppose I'll not just go with the flow. I'll sail above the waves and rock along with the boat.

Good thing I'm very much "aligned" still with the online world I have. I get to point out my stress and release them through it.

One thing that gives me a smile is remembering it's my Neopets (childish much? :P) guild's 2nd Year Anniversary. And I'm the guild leader! :)

Diverting Attention

This week has been different. Different in a sense that I felt the redundancy. The boring factor. The thing that I most hated in doing repetitive activities. Like there's nothing new.

Good thing there are people and ideas that makes every moment worthwile.

My job's not an easy one.

Ok, well on a typical agent perspective, being a Sales Coach is a cool and easy job. You get to just
walk around telling people to, "Hey guys, benta benta naman tayo jan!"; write on the whiteboard about the participation rate of every teams; award recognitions; go on break or lunch whenever you want; and the ultimate "perk" that every agents think - not take in calls like they do.

Well, it's not just that.

I have to agree with the above mentioned at some point. We get to have that great time to go on break and lunch on our convenience (without a schedule). But the whole 'in-betweens' of our breaks is where every detail of our job description lies.

We motivate agents to sell, that's our primary goal. We give spiffs, walk around, answer their technical questions, collate data, do coaching, report to bosses, then walk around again, in an everyday fashion.

The problem is, this week, I had an argument early on Monday with a family member, the start of my week was not good. Then, middle of the week, shortcomings of some people tend to give an impact on you as well. You either cover their asses or ignore that they're not around. Like nothing bad is happening. You get to do what they're supposed to do. Do extra effort. And so on.
Overtiming is no problem for me. I can always do that. But without a clear perspective on what to overtime for is another thing. You just can't say no to business tasks. Like what I keep mentioning to our agents, "You have to embrace it. Period." when I do my explanation on the transition of our program from Technical Support to Tech-Sales Support.

I was able to not pass out on all these things to accomplish with a good chuckle provided by peers. Colleagues such as Khatie and TL BJ seems to make every moment alive by providing great ideas on spiffs to implement and the whole implementation itself.
Rod was able to restore my "upbeat" attitude by reminding me that he's used to seeing me in that way, always smiling. :) The teams that I handle were very active on driving to hit their target goals and making sure that I'm aware of it.

I try to make sure to catch around 3-4 chapters of this a day this week and voila! By Friday, I was able to finish the PDF file about it. :) Great story again. :) Kudos to Rick Riordan for giving myth lovers a dose of reality-touched story of gods and goddesses. Happiness.

I hope this next week will be a good week for me. And did I mention it's going to be pay day? That's a good motivation. For me. :)

Weehoo. Haven't blogged for ages again.

I'm getting intrigued by this new "Harry Potter" series (I'm not really sure if it's new now, but it has just arrived the Philippine shores) :
Percy Jackson and The Olympians Series.

You see, I'm a big fan of gods and goddesses. And I can name a hell lot of gods like in a quiz bee. I'm very much fascinated with mythology and this "domain-over-something" idea that they have.

Thanks to TL Ricci Laxa (whom was my "monita" on our exchange gift last December), I got myself the first two books of the Series.

The Jaime Zobel Ayala Volleyball Tournament.

This was the volleyball league that eTel is joining for a couple of years now. And this is the first year I was in the team. :)

The opening day has its ups and downs for me.
First, I arrived early at the office in Alabang for our shuttle service is set to leave at 5:30 AM. Don and I went to grab some morning snacks at 7-11, then found Leslie, Chynna (with 2 others), and Rhoda coming along with us.
Lucky arrived later than all the ALabang-coming peeps and we left at a couple of minutes before 6AM.
We did a turnaround of service to pick up Coach Agoy (with around 5 other peeps), Kitty, before going all the way to UP Human Kinetics Gym.

The opening ceremonies were kind-of-great.

From Voice to Chat to Volleyball...

And here I am, so tired from all the busy-ness of my job. Now being active in this athleticism.

(Ok, Kat, here's the rant you've been waiting for! :p)

First, last June was my last month taking in calls inbound for Dell SMB Voice.
There came a time when there's a major "rigodon" or reshuffling of team compositions all over the program.
I was a bit surprised because it was a bit dramatic. STL Alain gave me a special coaching just for that.
He said it's going to be different. I thought I was just going to be transferred to a new Team Leader.
The moment he opened his mouth and said, "It's going to be different." I knew it. He said, "Chat."
And then my jaw dropped.
"Woah?! CHAT?! Why Chat?!"
And he explained to me that one of the Shift Manager picked me to be transferred to Dell SMB Chat. It's another part of our technical support team that handles troubleshooting through what else, chat.

And the week after I got my 2-3 days training. Sunday after that I found myself in the 7PM-4AM shift with my new TL - Tony Magsino.
Well, at first I was just having a so-and-so time because I really didn't feel about being in Chat and all that.

First month, I told myself, I'm not going to perform good here. I'm going to make them realize I deserve to be in Voice. My ACHT (Average Chat Handling Time) blows up to around 38-50+ Minutes. My CE is not bad, however, that's something I am proud of.
The first three weeks (supposed to be two only) I am only receiving 1 chat session. Fourth week, that's when I realized the true essence of chat that is receiving two chat sessions at a time.
When it came to my first coaching with TL Tony, he said I'm having good stats, it's normal that my ACHT is high because it's definitely easier to express yourself in words speaking it, than typing them.
He also left me a scary-but-with-a-good-intention message, "Chat will never let you go".
Great, that's just what I needed, compliment with a bittersweet effect.

The week after, I was surprised because we all received an email from TL Tony that our team's going to be disbanded (another team transfer, again?!). Me, Yani and Bryan are going to be transferred to TL Dona Aquino's team.

By July 2nd week (I think) I'm collaborating with my new teammates, Rhea being the closest because I've known her by Yani and we all get to smoke some cigarettes together.
TL Dona was quite interesting, she's been an L2 before and "some-kinda-low-profile". I know her name has been spammed a couple of times all over the floor but I've never known her personally.
Our L2's kinda strict, I remember my first day on the team (or was it 2nd?) I am LATE (haha! attitude!), she immediately commented something about it. So my first impression was that - we're not gonna jive.
But time came and everyday seeing each other was fun. I get to meet all these different faces that I wouldn't have noticed roaming the floor even at random times.
There's the "martyr" Rhea, accepting all chat sessions as much as she can and stresses out herself with late logging (which I adopted these days :p);
Mommy Olive, very nice, always fixes the resolution of her screen to 800x600 (^_^);
Denise, I've known her thru Jeni, my former Team Alain teammate, sossy with brains;
Bryan, from TL Tony's team, the "sleeping Giant" as how I call him, a lot of brains inside the big "husky" bod;
JP, timid guy with a very white complexion :);
Mico, joker of sorts, but soloist at times, along with
Charm, team "maldita" who prefers to sit on workstations at the end;
Marilyn, the girl who always stutter and I think her middle name's Nervous;
Lenny, with an employee number that is close to TL Dona, one of the resident tenured agents on the team.
and of course, Edel, Team D's very interesting "good boy" that disappears as soon as our shift ends. :)

It's been almost 4 months now that I've been with the Team. 1 GA has passed (Hello Gilligan's Lunch) and now on the 17th we're expecting our 2nd (or my second with the team).

I had a lot of good experiences, equivalently some bad ones on my stay on the team. I was awarded two months in a row with "Top Agent" of Team D for July and August. Hopefully this Septembr I'm still THAT. So that I can prove to everybody that I deserved to be awarded as SMB's Chat Agent of Q2 (which I forgot to mention I was awarded last August) and ultimately, Chat's Top Agent of Q3 as well. Vying for promotion (and it's about time!), I really think I deserve that. :)

I'm thinking of not coming to Bacolod anymore for that. Jello started a trip for me, Marvs, Let, and a friend of hers this October 14-18. But 3 events are expected to happen within that time period. Damn. And the trip included.

The other two were our Team GA and my volleyball elimination round for the eTel Team (my next topic, :p)

I was ecstatic when I saw an email one day in September about some tryouts for volleyball. Weird thing is, it's going to be held on Ateneo Sports Complex. Well, basing it from my current location in Alabang, I turned it down that week.

The week after, another email was sent for second callout for tryouts, this time in eTel Shaw.

And that's it. It's decided. I'm going.

Hesitant about how to get there, I gathered all possible directions from both my Mom and from some people on the floor. And Sunday came, I just found myself showing how I spike a ball in the center spot.

Luckily, I got picked. These past 3 weeks, I'm training along with other peeps from different eTel sites. And by 17 and 24 Oct, our game's going to be held at UP Kinetics Gym. Hopefully our team wins.

So there, my mind's boggled right now with my 3 days off. Cannot think of anything else to say.

Ah, eTel's integration to Stream, but that's another post. :)

Ok so let's start the promise.

First stop. December-January Holiday weeks (or should be Holiday weeks). December 24 -January 2. were supposed to be Holidays but I'm off to work at those times. What motivated me on those times was the fact that it's double pay and we get 30% night differentials and holiday leaves (talk about money!) at that time. Even if it's the first time that I'm not spending the Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve at home, it's still fun having it spent on the office. I made sure that on both 12AM's of the eves, I went down to look at the midnight sky and pray. Woo yeah, new experience indeed.

Three newbies

The last week of November was one of the most memorable week for me. I remember it was the first week when I had the most sales for that week ending. I was able to close 6 sales in a matter of two days! By the end of the week, I got 9 sales just for that week ending! (^_^)

It was also the week when we got three new members for the team. Ma. Anna Fillado, James Centeno and Joseph Castillo.

Sad Week for Team Villains

The ambiance was not that inviting. Everybody can feel the pressure that 5 of our members will be transferred to another team. Jomel, Jewel, Samir, Loki and my Mini-team OIC Mira will be transferred to a new team with a new Team Leader. We tried to make every moment the best as possible for that week.

I remember that was also the time that a new member from Wave 8 entered the team - Norman Tabanao. He's a bit physically fit, though not that tall. My first impression - "Promdi". But now, I stand corrected. He's approachable and a joker at some point. Mira was always "bullying" him with her ususal "harsh" words just to let go of the ill-feelings she has for what's going to happen the following week.

Later by Friday (Nov.21), STL invited everyone to attend an emergency GA at his house (which I heard was his first absence ever) so everyone can celebrate a farewell party for our soon-to-be-former teammates. Almost everyone was able to attend. I think Jomel, Ping, Lyka ('coz she just bore a child), Pam (sick), Leops and Tom weren't there.

STL prepared some rather tasty food and we ordered pizza as well fit for everyone to eat. Overflowing drinks were, of course, present. Picture-taking is not forgotten, here are some:

After that awesome meal, we talked into having some more fun (like bar-hopping or such) after Dampa. Everyone was still busy taking pictures. Somebody suggested Tagaytay instead of going to the bar. When we were inviting our other teammates to join us, not all of them can come. Jeni has to go some place else. Lyka ad TL Mel, of course needs to rest. Jomel has a class by tomorrow. Turns out, Elai, Marvin, Loki, STL Alain, Jewel, Tom, Louie, Honeylet and Me were the only ones ready to go.

I rode STL Alain's van going to Tagaytay. We waited for Jewel and Tom who parked Jewel's car in front of STL's house. Then the two of them joined us on the ride on STL's van. We had a very nice ride towards Tagaytay. We were even talking spooky stories along the way. We arrived there a couple of minutes after midnight.

Last week on Lean Shift

The schedule that was assigned to us for a 4-week time has come to its last week. I remember I was just very excited (as always) because it was fun starting the shift with the calls not that much queuing but it ends up queuing. But what's good about it is that I get to see most molino's on the floor before we get out. (^_^)

That week, I got engaged on a LOT of drinking sessions along with my teammates Weng, Loki, Elai, Honeylet, Bhuds, Marvs, Jane and Tom. It was almost every after shift. Weng usually initiates the invite, and most of us follows. What can I do, it's fun hanging out and having some drinks after a tedious day at work.

By the end of that week, PAY DAY!

STL Alain prepared a get-together party for the whole team on Friday at the Dampa Seafood Restaurants near the Mall of Asia. Specifically, the restaurant's name is Trinity Seafood House, I think. Since we all came from our shifts in the morning, I went to sleep and rested up to the afternoon. I went to the F Salon to get my hair colored again (brown with lighter higlights than last time). I spent about 2 hours plus and went straight home to refresh and get dressed for the event.

I arrived at the front of the office building and met my other teammates as well as STL Alain. I rode along Jeni's car and we drove all the way to the restaurant. It was a hell of a ride, we were talking about everything under the sun and got to the Dampa later than everybody.

When we got there, I found Lyka, our teammate who just bore her first child earlier that week, grace the event. She came along with TL Mel, her partner. The food was awesome, the ambiance was so superb. Everyone definitely enjoyed the event. I think we were about 20 there. We even have leftovers because of the overflowing amount of seafood ordered! (^_^)

Three weeks?!

Even though there has been a lot of happy things that happened, I'll try my best to come up with a concise but complete summary of what happened on my November 2008. (^_^) I missed blogging! A Night Out at Miles' Place

Well, this happened way last week, November 1 to be exact. Our text clan members got together to celebrate (actually it's Harry's idea) a farewell party for everyone at Miles' place in Dulong Bayan, Bacoor. The recent days are not-that-exciting as one by one a member quits. Harry gathered all of us but he arrived pretty late in the midnight because he came with Clarence from Malate. I arrived there at about 9pm already because it took me a long time to prepare.

I met with my co-varsity player (who's also a member, codename - Katch) Osler besides SM Bacoor. As soon as we arrived there, the house was already full of people. I felt the urge to eat dinner because we're going to have some drinks there so obviously I need to eat. I invited Osler and his buddy Jedd, and the buddies Jake and Hartlove (I'm singled out, yeah!). I treated Jake and Hartlove to some meals on the resto we went to. Jedd and Katch told me they already are full so I just ordered for three.

When we got back inside the house, it's now more jam packed than earlier. The drinking is about to begin and I freshened up and got along with everybody. Miles was very accomodating and everyone seems to be enjoying the night. Stories here and there, shots passed on turns, the usual house party drinking. Of course, smokers abound the place as well.

It was very much late when Harry and Clarence arrived. We (Jed, Katch and Me) were in Miles' room talking (and me passing songs from Jedd's phone to mine) until about 3-4am. Then, Miles persuaded Jedd to treat us on a meal. We headed back to the same resto we ate earlier. But this time, Jedd and Katch ate along with us. I took some photos while were there because it ws ages before our orders arrived.

My halloween wasn't that much typical. Of course, I went to the cemetery just as what most people do here in the Philippines. But the thing is, not in the family cemetery where I usually go, but in Dasmariñas Manila Memorial. I was invited by my friend Kurt to have some drinks in the cemetery (imagine that!). I went on and met up with them first at Kurt's house in Dasma. We carried some stuffs for preparation for the tent we're going to use for the whole evening of stay there. Since I'm on lean shift, I'm kinda used to being awake at night.

After they set up the tent, we started the drinking. JC and I went out of the group a couple of times just to eat at the nearby stalls of Dokito and Zagu. (^_^) I think the only picture that I got saved in my phone was this:

I took a nap at about 3am then woke up an hour after. I went home straight immediately because the sky's about to pour rain.

Thursday, I was bombarded with questions on what happened, I told them honestly that I had a piercing headache that I had to go to the clinic to get some more medicine aside from those I took up at home. Good thing everyone believed me and I was spared for not coming last night on Molokai.

I had some of the weirdest phone calls today. I just found myself one time talking to a Spanish person who doesn't want to be transferred to the Spanish queue. It's the first rule to transfer Spanish to Spanish, but that customer was way too hard to persuade. I understood his situation, he's using a Vostro (the line of Dell systems were focused to troubleshoot) registered under SMB, our department. He's been transferred even by the Spanish queue to us, which makes it even harder for me. We're having a hard time understanding each other, he's mumbling his English, and there are some points that I wished that if only he's a Filipino, we could've talked in Tagalog! (^_^)

Another weird call was with a woman whose earlier calls have been handled by two of my teammates. She's very difficult to understand but good thing I had the urge to help her. 'Coz I was like the fourth person she talked to that day!

On the good side of the day, I got my SECOND COMMENDATION! (^_^) I was so happy because the customer that gave me that commendation was a Spanish person as well, named Sixto Collantes. His issue was just downloading Flash Player to have sound on Internet videos. Yeah!

After shift, we all got ready to go to Elai's place as we all planned to have some drinks there that day. Not everyone was there, though. Weng, Marvin, Loki, Honeylet, Dad, Ping and Me were the only ones who went there.

We bought some food, drinks and some others at a 24-hour shop at the gasoline station on the way. We arrived at Elai's place at about 4:30am and good timing, "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" is showing on HBO. We tagged Marvin into buying us a pizza and left with no choice, he agreed =p.

Marvin drove us to the nearby Yellow Cab on the Alabang-Zapote Road. Honeylet and Elai came along with us to buy the pizzas. When we arrived there, we immediately picked out the pizzas to order - New York's Finest and Chicken Strips something, haha I forgot the other name. Elai also requested Marvs to buy him Charlie Chan pasta.

While we're waiting for our orders, I slipped out my cellphone and took a hell lot of pics, haha. Here are some:

Last Week of October

STL Alain wasn't around on Sunday and Monday because of some events which he'll be attending. L2 Omel was the one who acted as our FLS for the time-being. My Sunday and Monday calls were awesome, I reached 15minutes of iAHT, the lowest iAHT I ever got! My calls were mostly wrong queues and transfers, haha.

Because of our low Team CE (Customer Experience) rating, we were penalized to "power-dress up" for two days. Monday and Tuesday to be exact. I had to wear once again my maroon long-sleeved shirt and my black slacks. Very formal with matching necktie. Yeah. Tuesday, I just wore my blue long-sleeved shirt and gray-blue slacks. After shift, we all went to eat at the new "Sinangag Express" open restaurant at Las Piñas. I ordered "ChoSiLog" which means Chorizo (Chinese sausage), Sinangag (fried rice), Itlog (fried egg). And yeah, these are what's left after we ate:

a clean plate. It was tasty! What can I do?

On Wednesday, it as back to normal smart casual attire, oh yes. I just went on to handle calls for the day besides Bhuds' workstation. Mira had to file an emergency leave because of family matters and she requested me to sit besides Bhuds and take her workstation for the moment. At the end of the shift, they were getting ready for some drinking sessions again just for fun. I was having a hell of a headache nearly before our shift ended that's why when they were all gathering outside the office, I went home immedately. Simply walking away without anyone noticing, haha.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance

Well, finally I got my rest day. Even for only two days off of work, it's worth every minute. Friday, since I arrived in the morning already from the drinking session last midnight, I was asleep the whole morning up to about early afternoon. As soon as I woke up, I went straight to my computer to break away from the work environment. I missed playing PC games that's why I browsed thru my pc games and came across Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, from the Game Boy Advance Emulator I installed last year. I was then stuck in the front of my computer until 8pm that evening. Saturday was also like that, I just went to sleep on that day then played GBA again. I just remembered, this kinds of games are my usual stress-busters. When I play and surf about anything that interests me on the computer, I get to "not" think of things that I should be doing. Which is good. Because you cannot indulge yourself into working and working without rest. Your body will just grow tired of it. It's good that the word "recreation" was invented. (^_^)

1st week on Lean Shift

It could not get any better. First day, I met up with all of my teammates and we were all 'somehow' exhausted since we're doing 8 days of work straight with no rest days due to our schedule shifting from 6:30am-3:30pm TO 6:30pm-3:30am. It's all work up to Thursday that week. Calls here and there, break, lunch, break. The perks. But all throughout the week, I am very much satisfied with my performance when it comes to my metrics.. My iAHT dropped to about 23minutes only! (^_^)

Sunday, we met up with our newest team member - Jennyllyn Codilla. She just passed the TQ and she was assigned on our team. She's quite a pretty lass, nice looks, and quite sossy. She was introduced to the team and we got some bonding times with each other at times (especially when we're having some smokes :p ). I believe she also got the immunity from team penalties for two weeks for being the newest member, which I got when I was the new one.

About Tuesday that week, TL and the others talked about getting some drinks during shift since it's not queuing and there is a hig level of avail (or available agents on the floor). Everyone was encouraged by Loki, one of my teammates to do an ATO (or early leave since there are no calls) and there we went. The next minute, I just found myself drinking along with my teammates and having some fun at Molokai, a drinking spot somewhere in the Alabang beer gardens :) . There we got some good laughs and jokes placed on the sides.

Thursday was the last day of the week for our schedule and our mini team Poison Ivy was still pursuing to get some sales and luckily we tied up with our closest mini team competitor, the team Sephiroth. When the sales were measured by close rate, we won by 10% to 6% (^_^). After shift, we got engaged once again on a drinking session at Molokai which Weng was the chief initiator. He treated us on 3 rounds of beer along with Elai, Tom, Pam, Jane, and Honeylet. We went home at about 6am in the morning already.

Overall, it was a fun, productive week. I was very much enjoying handling and transferring calls. Starfish was right, I'm getting quite busy that I might need to slow down. As long as I'm not stressed, I think I can handle myself. (^_^) Thanks for the reminder though.

And Lhandz, yeah, it's the best shift ever. No calls for about 1 hour in betweens. But as soon as 9-10pm comes, there the calls downpour.

Bonding

I woke up early today and didn't bother opening up my computer. I went straight to preparing the things I'm going to use for work. I arrived early to work, of course. As soon as I pulled up my tools, I prepared myself for another batch of calls for the day.

I got some of the weirdest, first time calls today. One was with a very irate customer that asks for a supervisor but I didn't have the chance to escalate the call because my first line supervisors weren't around. Another was with a Filipino guy (Greg Nelson), the first time I talked in Tagalog with a caller! It was amusing, he's calling from the US Embassy, slang and all that, but the problem is, he hung up the call, just as I was very interested to help him with his issue. I tried calling him back (which is possible for disconnected calls). Then, I had several dispatches of media cd's for OSRI's. Damn. But anyway, my iAHT at one point dropped to 9:53mins. only! (^_^).

After shift, I went along with some of my teammates to have some drinks at Manongs, a well-ventilated drinking spot somewhere in Alabang. The place was awesome, we didn't even notice the time passing by. We had some serious, not-so-serious, work-related, out-of-this world talks along with the overflowing beer. Now I can say that I'm very much contented with my teammates and I feel that I am really a part of the team now. (^_^)

We all went home at about 8pm already and STL drove us and dropped us on the way home. I was so drowsy that I didn't manage to go to a friend's house where I promised I'll go after the drinking. I went straight to sleep.

I woke up the same time I usually wake up, turned on my PC and tried playing some games. I had my breakfast, still having some headache from the hangover. I went back to sleep and woke up at 10. I tried getting some sleep again, but I just couldn't, so by 3pm I immediately prepared going to work and here I am posting this. (^_^) Hopefully I can get to adapt easily on the Lean Shift I have now.

Still... No Internet?!

Since yesterday was very much embarrassing, I went to work on time and I'm not late. The calls I had for that day were quite ok. The updates of our iAHT were not available yet up until now. So I wasn't able to track down if I'm doing great on the Stats Tracker. After work, I went to SM Southmall to buy an SD Memory Card Reader/USB Connector in one and tried putting my new pics on my computer. Problem is, our internet's still not operating very well. I contacted our Internet Service Provider (Globe Broadband) and informed them about our issue. Since we're both technical support reps, I was able to convey to the agent that the external modem needs to be replaced because it's overheating even if it's only turned on for about 10 minutes. He verified tha tthru some steps and came up with replacing the modem. He said it's going to take about 5 days turnaround time for an onsite tech to replace the modem. Anyway, that's good. Better late than never. I met up with my classmate Mark later in the evening for him to give my payment for the iPod shuffle I purchased from our former teammate Jeff.

The next day (Friday), I was sooper early at work. About 5:15 am I was already at the operations floor. I pulled up my tools early and reviewed some existing cases that I have that needs to be called back. The calls I had for the day were quite long. I had 3 OS reinstallations and good thing the last one only took 15 minutes! (^_^) I went home along with my usual teammates and Dad drove us all the way to SM Southmall. I got home at about 5:30 and played Pokemon Mystery Dungeon immediately. As soon as I finished resting, I was already very tired to move that I didn't notice I was already asleep and woke up at midnight. I went to sleep back again and onwards to another day at work. It's our last day on the morning shift. Tomorrow, I'm back on graveyard shift for out new schedule 6:30pm - 3:30am. Whew.

Lateness

My dad woke me up a bit later than I'm supposed to wake up - 5am! I sooper hurriedly went straight to bath and prepared going to work. I left the house about 10 minutes before 6am and man, was I soo very late. I met up with my teammate Tom on a jeepney ride to office from Moonwalk. I was able to login at about 6:38am and auto-in at my Avaya phone at 6:40am already. I was bombarded with chuckles and reactions from my fellow teammates and obviously, I was somehow ashamed that I came in late. Especially that I'm still probee, the performance expected of me is beyond that tardiness. Haha.
The calls were quite ok, just trying to figure out some things, but overall, they went very well. Total calls I had today was about 10 only but my AHT was only 20minutes ++. It was a fun and ok day especially that it's Pay Day today. I withdrew my my money along with Elai, Jane and Honeylet on the bank near SM Southmall. Then we all went inside the mall except for Jane who went home immediately. We strolled for a bit and found ourselves inside the department store. We then bid farewell to Honeylet because Elai and I are going home. We bought some nice brownies on the way back home and I got to our house at about 5:30 pm already. Bad side of the day - no internet! So obviously this journal is a late log. But anyway, that's the main purpose of this journal - to remember everything that happened to me everyday. (^_^)

From Pimples to Cellphone

As soon as I had my breakfast, I went straight to my computer and surfed the net to no limits. I checked on every online accounts I do check everyday as well as my inbox on our office outlook. I indulged myself into playing AdventureQuest and DragonFable because Mom left the house in the morning, and of course, no one would stop me. Haha...

I am very much disappointed, however, on my cellphone, actually to the Sun Cellular Network. My cellphone was able to receive like all of the messages sent to me but surprisingly cannot send any message nor make even a single phone call. It will automatically say failed, or drop the call when in fact it has a full bar of signal! That's awfully weird. I just loaded my cellphone prepaid last Sunday and since then I wasn't able to send messages like normally. I think it has something to do with my previous loads getting stacked up to each other (and I now have 198 minutes of free calls!) and maybe Sun doesn't permit things like that to happen. But why would they disrupt the signal just because of that? Is it bad to NOT use up the free calls? Then why did the thing like that "free call stacking up" happening? Abnormally weird. Very weird.

Anyway, Mom arrived in the afternoon, just in time for me to take a bath and good thing I just turned off the computer and she didn't notice it. She brought us some afternoon snacks and man, were they soo yummy. They were rice cakes and I love these kind of food. One is "nilupak" - cassava rice cake, and the other one is "puto bumbong" - coconut rice cake. I gobbled up as much as I could before taking a bath.

Also, before going to the shower, I noticed there was a big zit on my face that is very much noticeable. I hated it. I hope by the end of the week this will be gone already. Owww, if only I could afford my own dermatologist.

I washed my clothes after and yeah, it took me up to 11pm to finish all of my dirty clothes in the hamper. I then remembered it was soo two weeks ago since I last washed my clothes so it got piled up just like that. I still had my PC on for the time being I'm washing - addict!

Meanwhile, the highlight of my day was when Mom finally decided to give me the new cellphone she bought from my sister's friend (actually I'm going to buy it from her, haha). It was a Metallic Green Samsung E250 Phone. Here's how it looks like:

I've always wanted to change my almost-primitive Nokia phone. But the good thing I loved about it was how fast it can send messages. I've always utilized the features of that Nokia (I don't remember the model, it's colored, but no camera) and kept it handy most of the times. But now, time to change, here comes my new phone. Haha, hopefully I can utilize the features too, I've already configured the settings and copied the contacts on my phone book. Nice look, sleek and stylish. I think I'm going to stick to this for quite some time.

Well, gotta go. It's work again tomorrow. Early at 6:30am. Don't want to be late.

So You Think You Can Dance?

Monday. Start of the week for most people. But for me today, it's rest day.

I woke up early at 6am because of a call of nature. Then went to take a nap again. Breakfast was ready at 7:40 am and that's when I really got out of bed and started the day from there. After breakfast, I just checked on my cellphone for unread messages (and it shows no space for new messages so I had to wait for a while to keep them coming) and afterwards turned on the computer.

As soon as my system went straight to the desktop (and believe me, it takes like 5 minutes or more for it to fully start), I opened up Mozilla Firefox (my default browser) and updated my blogs and online accounts. Of course it would not be interesting if I'm going to reiterate everything that happened during my online surfing. But to mention some, I tried to tweak in some changes with my blogger site but I was having problems making it work. I was astounded when I came across the Aspire Template for the design and layout of the blog page. Aside from the slow loading of my system (it only has 128MB of memory), opening up multiple windows/tabs open slows it up even more. Good thing there was an option to save the previous template and I just loaded it back when I couldn't figure out anymore how to use the Aspire template.

I also tried to play some online flash games I usually check out, such as DragonFable and MechQuest. Neopets, of course, came in between logs. OneManga also caught my attention, specifically Flame of Recca, when I had my lunch in front of the computer. I read some chapters of the manga I haven't read yet until now.

From 8am to about 3:15pm I'm stuck in front of my PC. The only thing I think I did around the house was to sweep the floor (helpful much?!), haha. At least I'm happy I get to update my online accounts especially on times like this, I mean, in looong times like this :).

In the afternoon, I got to watch "So You Think You Can Dance" Season 3 on Velvet, the channel that I know that is very late on showing their programs, datewise. I just found out on Wikipedia that the current season that is airing on the channel is the 3rd one, when in fact the current season airing on the US is Season 4 already! Well, anyway, I'm still amazed and liked the performances of the Top 6:

Everyone did well, gathering high praises and comments. My favorites are... all of them, haha, no seriously, because all of them were awesome with about no missed steps whatsoever. Neil was awesome with his solo and his Pasa Doble with Sabra, not to mention having a nice face. Sabra did great along with Neil on their duo performance. Lacey with his solo, nice legs and behind. Danny, awesome smile, body and extensions. Pasha was unique on his solo performance, he used a mannequin! Lauren was oh-so-great on her performance along with Danny, the technicality was extreme!

Catch up

My mother woke me up at about 3:20 am in the morning. I was surprised to see that she's the one who did that because it was my father who usually do that. I headed straight to my computer and surfed for a while. Then I prepared going to work, and it was about 5am already. By 5:45am I left the house. I arrived about 6:15am and went straight to pulling up my tools. I am very much excited to take in calls today because last Sunday I was able to handle 18 calls.

Well, since it's the first day of a new week ending for our shift, I tried my best to accommodate as much calls as I can. What's weird today was my break-lunch-break schedule. Lunch was first on the schedule assigned to me, it was at 8:30am. I bought a regular call card of Sun and reloaded my cellphone prepaid. I hit some smokes for a while then went back to taking calls. What seemed like forever after lunch (and I had 5 calls by that time), became worse when DellServ, one of our main tools for profiling callers, became down for about 4 hours! It was my first time to experience that. I usually relied most of the time to that tool. So for the next 5-6 calls I had, I tried my best to do what must be done and, I think, I did minimal errors. My first break came in at 12:30 pm and my second break at 2:15pm. I did not receive a call when DellServ became ok again. I just scrubbed of my cases and finished logging them back to DellServ. All in all, I handled about 17 calls today, with an iAHT of 22 minutes.

About 15 minutes before our shift ends, our Senior Team Leader called for an Aux5 (Meeting, Coaching Break) for everyone. We talked about the target BSC's and the former grades of my teammates. All of us did some minor reporting and all the metrics were elaborated. We also talked about some best practices and action plan for the current Q4.
We filed an overtime for that and afterwards went home immediately. Some smokes outside the office then I went along Elai and Jane and rode Dad's van up to Alabang Medical Center. I got home at about 7pm already.

Week ending: Oct. 5 - Oct. 11

- Sunday - Today I had the most number of calls received. My internal Average Handling Time (iAHT) dropped to only about 22 minutes! I handled about 18 calls today, they just seem to pour on me. I think about a quarter of them were transfers, and some others are expired warranties.
After the shift, we all got ready to go to Pansol as today was also our team's General Assembly (a swimming party). I rode Dad's van along with Elai, Bhudz, Honeylet, Mira and Weng onwards to Pansol, but we went first to the South Supermarket where we spent about 1 1/2 hours shopping for food and ingredients!
We arrived at Laguna at about 7 pm already (or was it 8pm?). Everybody who's already there seems to be enjoying themselves very well. Songs can be heard from the videoke coming from the drinking sessions already started as well. I got dressed and impressed everyone with the length of my shorts. And it was really short. Haha. And of course, there began the swimming, drinking, singing, picture-taking and all that. We had dinner and man, was Dad an awesome cook! The food was magnificent. I got drowsy by 11pm and went to take a nap. When I woke up (about 12:15am), some of my teammates were talking about me. I probed further and discovered that pictures were taken when I was asleep! Anyway, the pics were not that harsh... haha. I continued the drinking sessions along with Honeylet, Rose and Leops. We went to sleep at about 1 am already.

- Monday - We all woke up about 6am in the morning and had our awesome breakfast. We reminisced the things that happened last night. Of course, every thing has to end so we all prepared going home. I still rode on Dad's van along with Bhudz, Elai, Ian, Pam, Weng, Honeylet and Mira going home. They dropped me at Northgate and I went straight home. As soon as I arrived home, I went straight to my PC and surfed as much as can. Until I felt sleepy and went straight to sleep after taking a bath.

- Tuesday - Rest day still. But I think what I just did today was to play my computer games (Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Red Version) and check on my online accounts. Nothing much.

- Wednesday - Back to my working shift. My calls today were great, I think I was able to handle 14. My AHT for today was about 25mins. Not bad. I also received my Dell T-Shirt today. I am most proud of getting that one 'coz in my opinion, it shows that you belong to the Dell SMB Queue, hahaha. (^_^)

- Thursday - Not a great day of handling calls, though I wore my Dell Shirt today and everyone else noticed it. My calls today were about 8 only. I didn't like it that much. It was more on OSRI (Operating System Re-Installation), which usually takes about an hour or so.

- Friday - Good thing it's dress-down today. I was able to wear my 'now'-favorite first hooded jacket. It was quite fun today. It was like queuing, which is weird for morning shifters. My first call was the most interesting because the customer was literally crying and I did all that I can to calm her up, of course with the help of escalation thru Dad.
It rained very hard today, and little do I know that classes were suspended until I heard it from the news later in the evening.

- Saturday - I woke up kinda late today. It was about 5am already and my shift starts at 6:30am! I quickly took a bath, got dressed, ate about 2 sandwich slices, then rushed to the end of our village. Good thing I arrived 15 minutes earlier than 6:30am. I then went on and handled calls throughout the day. I had the funniest day in the floor today. Everyone of us were joking on each other. I was even the object of some jokes at some point. Jewel was being kinda harsh-joking-sarcastic-funny at the same time. Marvin, as usual, sent my picture all over my wave-mates' emails. I got 12 calls today and 1 OSRI which was about to continue even after my shift but I got an adlib and went on finishing the call in 26 minutes.

2nd week of regular shift.

Week ending : Sept. 28 - Oct. 4

- Sunday - end of my shift for the week. My schedule's Wednesday to Sunday. I'm quite getting the hang of everything. I'm enjoying every moment of every calls I'm handling.

- Monday - Rest Day. Just stayed at home and went online because my internet's ok again. Now I am able to check up everyday on my online accounts. Great.

- Tuesday - Pay Day. Had my haircut early in the morning and withdrew my salary after that. It's a bit back to how much it was when I had my first payout. I went to PLM and gave my teammates a treat to McDonald's after a bit of volleyball playing. I then went along with Jay-R to James' house for Mr.Gamus' birthday celebration. It was sooo much fun! I wasted like about 2k that night. But anyway, I had a blast from drinking along with my former classmates and friends. Paul was even there who came a bit late about 2 hours before I went home (3 kisses to Paul! Mwah, mwah mwah! (^_^).

- Wednesday - After going straight home from partying and drinking, I didn't have a time for a nap so I went straight to work. It was nice and ok, had some nice bonding along with my new found smoke-mates with the team.

-Thursday - I can now send spam messages to the team. Everyone's entertaining what I am saying on my messages during the shift. It's dress-down day today because of the Signal #1 raised on Manila so STL advised us on what to wear thru a text message sent yesterday.

- Friday - Longest AHT (Average Handling Time) I think I got was today because I did like two OSRI (Operating System Re-Installation) to two callers. I'm calling them back again and again and the total inbound calls I got today was only about 8 calls!

- Saturday - COMMENDATION! I was just handling my calls that day when suddenly Marvin stepped up behind me and told me that one of the callers that I helped yesterday (Sheng Zhang) gave me a commendation after Marvin finished the call for me! It was a very nice feeling excpet that the announcement sent to the whole floor was with my ID picture taken las July when I was still in training and I was stll looking "lousy"! Hated it. But anyway, it's nice to be commended. I was there very much excited to take in phone calls.

been busy the past few days... part 2

The week after TQ was nothing more but nerve-wracking and exciting rolled into one. I don’t know about my TQ-mates but I am definitely enjoying myself adapting to the technician world of Dell SMB.

Week ending: September 21 - 27

- It’s the first week of our full deployment to the Operations Floor. Sunday I had a shift right away, along with Choi and Matt. Mommy A, I believe, also had at 6pm that day. Since I came from work directly from a party, I was a bit groggy but I think I did well. My first call I remember, is to perform a dispatch to a Canadian caller. Good thing, Marvin was able to help me thru email (coz I was about to continue with the dispatch!) and said that I need to transfer the caller to the Canada queue. STL Alain Guinmapang introduced me to the whole team and they introduced themselves one by one to me. I also experienced one on one talk with STL and he introduced himself as well.

- The following days were quite fun. I'm on the stage of adapting. I'm starting to get acquainted to everyone on the team. I'm always askig questions to Christian as well as Jewel. But at times to Jomel as well. Of course to Marvin if I got a chance. STL's being very nice and guides me through all the walkthroughs that I'm ever going to need. CC Nowell Macatangay's started a discussion about case ownership as well. RS Rommel Capati (we call him Dad) also helps me at times.

- They were all talking about the swimming for next week. I'm also excited for that one as it is our Team's General Assembly. The other days were just work, work, work.

- Prospect's been showing up on my way very much on this week. Nice inspiration for the start of my regular shift week. (^_^)

Been Busy the past few days...

Week ending: September 14 - 20
- It's the last week for our Transition Queue. I remember I am really enjoying calls at these times.

- I was able to sell a $349.99 worth of memory module to a caller (whose purpose initially was to buy a memory for his system) on our last day of the TQ. Sales Coach Gerald Gomez gave me a treat because of that - a large pack of Tortillos Cheese, yeah!

- Tuesday of this week was the time I got the most number of calls and had my AHT (Average Handling Time) lowered to the standard rate. (^_^)

- This week we were all really focused. But of course, with *prospects* around, we can't help but go look sideways. But we still manage to really focus when calls came.

- The last day of TQ (September 25) was a very crucial day for us. Our TQ trainers didn't give us any hint of who will pass and who will not. When the time of the announcement came, Daddy Vin was the first one to be called. He had a pep talk with Boss Vince Lukban along with our trainers and afterwards came back to our group and said he didn't make it. How sad...
Almond called the rest of us and we all gathered up on the elevated part of the floor to go on the same talk process with Boss Vince and our trainers. I thought we're going to be talked in whole batch now because timewise, it's pretty much time-consuming. But no. He announced that everyone of us, except for Daddy Vin, PASSED! Woah! We passed!
I am very much pleased and happy and excited when he announced it. He gave us directions on our schedules, our teams, and our Team Leaders. Everyone was so overhelmed but felt sorry for Daddy Vin, because he was so techie-techie and all that, but it's just the QA (Quality Assurance) Evaluations that failed him. By the way, my very own QA Evals were awesome on the second week. If on my first week I got 85-80-85 grades (and 90 is passing), the second week I got 95-95-95! It was great! 2 Evals were to be passed to pass TQ so eventually I passed already, yoohoo! What's more, is that our TQ trainers requested to lower the passing grade for our QA Evals. If 90% is passing, I think Fern, Momo, Choi and Me were the only ones who will pass (and we do not want to carry that in our burdens!). Then they lowered it to 85% and most of us passed. Daddy Vin, I believe, only got 83.33% and our trainers couldn't do anything about it anymore.

- We planned a celebration earlier that week and we went to Vince's house after the last day of TQ, actually immediately after shift (technically it was Friday already, September 26). We stayed there the whole day bonding, reminiscing, watching movie, eating lunch cooked by Mommy A, Vince and Vince's Mom, and of course, drinking... a LOT. Vince setup the videoke later and we sang songs there. I belted out any song I know I can (of course! It's a videoke, like hello, haha). We went home at about 6pm already and I we were all sleepyheads on travel. I got to a van along with Momo, Maycel, and Fern on the way to Cavite from Alabang. It was sooo much fun.

- Saturday was the day of our mothly BL Convention. It was the formal launching of BL Gabay, Yffar's idea of a standard community for the LGBT society. It was fun and enjoyable. I met up with a lot of old acquaintances in the organization. It made me awake up to morning the next day even though my first day of regular shift on the Operations Floor is the next day. Imagine how I looked liked at work.

Blogspot. The keyword I always remember whenever I look at my friends' blog sites. I admit I wasn't really attracted at first because I already have Friendster and Multiply (and both offers blogging as well) where I usually post my blogs. But when I realized that my logging in everyday to those sites were primarily for blogging everyday, I thought, why not put up a blog site just for blogs and no other? Well there I typed in blogspot.com at the address bar of Mozilla Firefox. I was surprised that it was redirected to blogger.com. I double checked my spelling and that's where I discovered that blogger.com is the website to register and is the domain name for the blog site. And now, here's my blog, newly-created and hoping to have numerous posts in the future. The theme? Bellossom. Why? I just couldn't think of an easy-to-remember blog site name for the blogspot.com ending =p. After all, I love Oddish, my favorite Pokemon, evolves to Bellossom (with a Sun Stone) and Oddish, I think, is a taken domain name already. Well, anyhoo, be posting here by then!
